Specialty Coating: Performance

Works Diamond Like Coating “DLC”

Fork Inner Tube: $749.99 (Pair) – Shock Shaft: $249.99

This long lasting, high hardness and low friction multi-layered coating is applied in 2 – 4 microns thickness. DLC offers significantly less friction than chrome and better friction properties than TiNitride coatings.

Independent Race Shop coating is the highest quality in the industry. Additionally, DLC coating reduces seal stiction, friction, increases the resale value of your motorcycle and suspension.

Note: There is a $90 service charge to remove/install the fork carriers for DLC coating, or Type 2 & 3 hard anodizing.

Works Kashima Coating

Fork Inner Tube: $599.95 (Pair) – Shock Body: $399.95

Conventional hard anodic film is normally porous and low to moderate wear resistance, and there are more chances of abrasion and wear, caused by failure of lubrication in higher pressure, vibration, and friction areas. Kashima Coat with lubricating property and higher resistance characteristics was researched and developed by Miyaki Co., to reduce tolerance breakdown.

Type 2 & 3 Hard Anodizing

Fork Carrier: $124.95 (Pair) – Shock Body: $124.95

Independent Race Shop offers type 2 & 3 hardcoat anodizing for your shock body and fork lugs. We can save you money by hardcoating your worn out shock body and resurrecting it’s life!

Some manufactures shock bodies are not hard coated from the factory. Hard anodizing reduces inner shock body wear, triples the fluid life and prolongs internal part wear.
